Groz-Beckert unveils CNC-calibrated Reed Solutions for Indian mills

Groz-Beckert’s has launched its specialized reed portfolio in Ichalkaranji weaving cluster. This move aligns with the Union Budget 2026-27 mandate, which prioritizes the modernization of traditional textile clusters through capital support and technology upgrades. By integrating advanced reeds that offer martensitically hardened steel and CNC-calibrated precision, manufacturers are addressing critical operational challenges, including filament damage and uneven weave patterns, which have historically hampered the export competitiveness of Indian fabrics.

As the domestic textile market scales toward a projected $146.8 million valuation by 2033, the focus has shifted from raw speed to ‘first-time-right’ quality. As per Christof Naier, Vice President, Groz-Beckert’s Weaving Division, precision-engineered solutions are essential for mills handling complex technical textiles and fine filaments. This technological shift is boosted by the new India-US trade agreement, which has reduced tariffs to 18 per cent, incentivizing weavers to invest in systems that ensure consistent fabric geometry. The integration of such high-precision components is expected to be a cornerstone of the ‘Vision 2030’ objective to expand textile exports to Rs 9 lakh crore, transforming regional clusters into global manufacturing powerhouses.
