American cotton industry supports Turkish textile with sustainability and high-quality supply

Nezihi Aslankeser, Cotton USA EMEA Region Director, emphasized the strong partnership between American cotton producers and Turkey's textile industry. Despite challenges like hurricanes and droughts affecting US cotton production, Aslankeser assured that supply chains remain uninterrupted, with production expected to reach 14.2 million bales.
He highlighted Cotton USA's commitment not only to fiber supply but also to enhancing sustainability and transparency within the industry. Through the US Cotton Trust Protocol and sustainability platforms, Cotton USA is advancing traceability, allowing producers and consumers to track cotton from field to final product.
Aslankeser noted that American cotton, known for its high quality and contamination-free yarn, remains a trusted choice for textile manufacturers globally, especially in markets like Turkey.
American cotton constitutes around 30 per cent of Turkey’s cotton imports in the 2023-2024 crop year, and its quality and transparency make it a valuable asset for Turkish textile manufacturers aiming for international competitiveness. Cotton USA also offers valuable support through educational resources and long-term financing options to its partners.
