Brazilian cotton prices see ups and downs in late February

Brazilian cotton prices fluctuated in late February, ranging from BRL 4.20 to 4.3 per pound (around $0.85-0.87). Despite a global price increase, Brazilian sellers held firm.

Growers, encouraged by a positive season, were hesitant to sell, while industry players sought various contracts. Companies needing cotton quickly, especially high-quality fiber, offered higher prices.

Exports boomed in February, reaching 146.3 thousand tons in just 10 working days, a 239 per cent increase year-over-year. This increase highlights the strong demand for Brazilian cotton in the global market.
