The Cotton Association of India (CAI) will address the various challenges facing domestic fiber production at the upcoming Cotton India 2026-27 conference scheduled for October 29-30, 2026, in Mumbai. The conference also aims to address challenges in technological modernization, and international trade integration as global supply chains navigate tightening inventories.

Industry experts point out, declining agricultural yields and growing operational expenses require urgent collaborative strategies across the spinning, weaving, and apparel manufacturing sectors. Enhancing fiber productivity and adopting sustainable farming practices are imperative to maintain our competitive edge in global textile markets, explains Atul Ganatra, President, Cotton Association of India.

The event will feature panel discussions on quality enhancement, value addition, and risk mitigation against volatile commodity pricing. A recent case study from a leading cooperative ginning unit in Gujarat showed that implementing digital grading technologies reduced contamination rates by 15 per cent, underscoring the commercial benefits of technological upgrades that will be showcased during the upcoming sessions.
