CAI to organize training course on cotton quality assessment and marketing

Cotton Association of India (CAI) is organizing a training course on ‘Cotton - Quality Assessment & Marketing in Present Scenario’ under its Farmer Training Centre from September 17-19, 2025 at its Mumbai headquarters. Through this course, CAI aims to give all stakeholders in the cotton and textile value chain an opportunity to gain knowledge about Cotton Quality assessment.
The program will feature a variety of sessions led by industry experts on topics including Indian Cotton Scenario: An overview of the current cotton industry state in India; Quality and Contamination: Sessions on quality assessment, traceability and contamination control to produce contamination-free cotton; Ginning and Storage: Best practices for procurement, ginning and storage of cotton; Sustainable Cotton: Information of initiatives like Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) and the certification process for organic cotton; Marketing and Risk Management: Discussions on price risk management using hedging tools from MCX and NCDEX platforms; Kasturi Cotton: The methodology behind branding of Kasturi Cotton; Testing and Technology: A demonstration of modern testing instruments like the High Volume Instruments (HVI)and trash and moisture machines; Global Perspective: Analysis of India’s position in the global cotton market
