Cotton Corporation of India launches cotton procurement center in Warangal to support farmers

The Telangana Government has reaffirmed its commitment to support farmers by ensuring remunerative prices for their produce. Konda Surekha, Minister for Environment, Forests, and Endowments, inaugurated a new cotton procurement center operated by the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) in Enumamula Market Yard.
Surekha emphasised the Congress party's longstanding dedication to farmers' welfare, citing the initiatives of YS Rajasekhara Reddy, former Chief Minister. She assured farmers that the CCI would procure all cotton stocks, and address concerns about moisture content by forming a dedicated committee. The Corporation would also credit all payments directly into the farmers’ accounts within three days of procurement, she added,
Local MLA KR Nagaraju highlighted the current government's efforts to support farmers through crop loan waivers and uninterrupted power supply. He urged CCI officials to streamline the procurement process.
The district administration has established 14 of the 27 planned procurement centers in Warangal, with the remaining facilities expected to be operational within a week.
