Cotton prices across North India rise despite low arrivals
Influenced by stronger prices on the Intercontinental Exchange, cotton prices across North India increase despite less new arrivals and weak demand from mills, The new cotton crop is anticipated to arrive about two weeks late but is expected to be in good condition. Prices of viscose yarn also increased in Mumbai as mills raised their rates. Surat saw better demand for fancy yarns, but standard yarn products saw weaker sales. On the contrary polyester cotton and polyester yarn prices declined in Ludhiana and Surat owning to slow demand and payment issues.
