A leading polyester filament yarn manufacturer, Filatex India is planning a Rs 65- crore expansion project. The aim is to be a frontrunner in India’s evolving textile ecosystem by balancing capacity growth with sustainability initiatives. To strengthen core production, Filatex is investing Rs 235 crore to add new facilities at its Dahej unit. This expansion includes adding 19,800 MTPA of Partially Oriented Yarn (POY); 28, 800 mtpa of Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY)and 14,400 mtpa of Draw Textured Yarn (DTY).

Scheduled for commissioning by September 2026, this facility will meet increasing domestic and export demand while solidifying Filatex’s leadership in polyester yarn production.

To increase efficiency, the company is implementing a Steam Power Distribution Project. With an outlay of Rs 85 crore (approx. $10.2 million) financed through internal cash reserves, the project will sell approximately 70 TPH (tons per hour) of surplus steam from its captive power plant to nearby small-scale industries.

Expected to be operational by June 2026, this optimization project is projected to generate an additional annual EBITDA of Rs 60 crore (approx. $7.2 million), showcasing resource efficiency and value creation.

Filatex is also making significant advancements in recycling as part of its vision to transition the textile industry from a linear to a circular economy. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Texfil, the company is executing a Rs 300 crore (approx. $36.1 million) Polyester Textile Recycling Project with an annual capacity of 26,250 mt.

Located near its Dahej facility, this plant will utilize Filatex’s patented molecular regeneration process to chemically recycle post-consumer and pre-consumer textile waste into virgin-quality polyester chips.
