GHCL Textiles commences commercial production at new unit in Tamil Nadu

GHCL Textiles has commenced commercial production at its newly commissioned, fully automated manufacturing section, dubbed ‘Meenakshi.’ This section is located at the company's existing facility in Paravai, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. The addition immediately increases the company's manufacturing footprint in the crucial cotton spinning segment. The Meenakshi unit adds 25,536 new ring spindles to the facility. With this boost, GHCL Textiles' total installed capacity across its operations now stands at 224,976 ring spindles.

The entire expansion project was financed through an investment of approximately Rs 215 crore (about $25.8 million) sourced entirely from internal accruals, demonstrating the company's strong financial position and confidence in the long-term outlook for the cotton yarn market. This investment reinforces GHCL Textiles' commitment to modernization and solidifies its leadership standing within the Indian cotton spinning sector.
