Government extends application window for PLI scheme for textiles
The Union government has extended the application window for the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles until September 30, 2025. This decision comes after a strong and enthusiastic response from the industry. For the application period in August, the government received 22 new entries from companies in the man-made fiber (MMF) apparel, fabrics, and technical textiles sectors.
The government is giving prospective investors one more chance to benefit from the scheme, states the Textiles Ministry. The decision to reopen the window was based on the industry's desire to invest more, which reflects growing market confidence in Indian textile manufacturing, it noted.
The ministry clearly stated, no applications will be accepted after the September 30 deadline. So far, it has selected 74 companies to participate in the PLI scheme, with a combined committed investment of Rs 28,711 crore.
