Grasim Industries Q2 revenue rises, textile & yarn drive growth

Grasim Industries reported a 66 per cent drop in consolidated net profit to Rs 390 crore in Q2FY25, attributed to poor demand in its paints division and lower cement business margins. However, the company’s revenue from operations rose by 11 per cent to Rs 33,563 crore, driven by strong performance in its cellulosic fibre and specialty chemicals segments.
The cellulosic fibre business posted a revenue of Rs 4,125.19 crore, up 6.07 per cent, supported by price improvements and stable domestic demand. Sales volumes for Cellulosic Staple Fibre (CSF) hit a record 219 KT, growing 4 per cent YoY, with higher global prices boosting EBITDA margins.
Revenue from the chemicals segment grew by 3.31 per cent to Rs 2,054.37 crore, driven by higher caustic soda prices. Meanwhile, the company continues investing in its textiles business, allocating Rs 20 crore to strengthen this division.
Grasim highlighted its significant role in India’s fast-growing economy and expressed optimism about opportunities in diverse sectors. The company remains committed to expanding its textile and yarn capabilities alongside its investments in other businesses.
