As India moves forward with its stated objective of achieving $100 billion in annual textile exports by 2030, the 12th edition of India ITME, scheduled for December 2026, has emerged as a catalyst for the domestic sector. The event, set to host over 1,800 exhibitors across 15 halls at the India Exposition Mart in Greater Noida, underscores a critical shift toward high-end automation and sustainable manufacturing technologies. Industry stakeholders view this machinery showcase as a prerequisite for upgrading national production capabilities, which remain essential to competing with cost-efficient global rivals.

The push for modernization is underscored by a recent government mandate to boost the value chain from fiber to fashion. With recent data placing India’s current textile exports at approximately $33.5 billion for 2025-26, bridging the gap to the $100 billion target requires an aggressive transition from volume-driven production to high-value, tech-integrated output.

Addressing the industry's need for efficiency, Seema Srivastava, Executive Director, India ITME Society says, the exhibition aims to provide manufacturers direct access to advanced engineering solutions that facilitate circularity and energy-efficient processing. As factories struggle with rising operational overheads, the integration of smart machinery is being prioritized to enhance global competitiveness and ensure compliance with stringent international quality standards.

The India ITME Society organizes the flagship International Textile Machinery Exhibition, serving as a global convergence point for textile engineering and technology providers. The event focuses on the entire value chain: spinning, weaving, processing, and finishing. Its primary goal is to foster technology transfer, boost domestic manufacturing productivity, and strengthen India’s global market position. For years, the platform has played a vital role in showcasing advancements in sustainable textile solutions, aligning with national industrial growth targets to elevate the sector’s contribution to India’s total export earnings.
