Indo Rama Synthetics strengthens board to deal with growing demand for synthetic fibers
Indo Rama Synthetics (India) has overhauled of its leadership structure to capitalize on the growing demand for domestic polyester and technical textile segments. The company has sought approval for the appointment of Vipin Kumar as a Non-Executive Director and Sanjay Gupta as a Whole-Time Director. Facilitated through an e-voting process concluding in late April 2026, these appointments aim to integrate decades of specialized manufacturing expertise as the Indian synthetic fiber market targets a valuation of $7.2 billion by 2030.
The leadership transition arrives as the sector faces a complex situation with rising input costs balanced against a 5.64 per cent CAGR in domestic synthetic fiber consumption. Data from the first nine months of the FY26 cycle indicates a significant performance recovery for Indo Rama, with consolidated income reaching Rs 3,722.08 crore, a 21 per cent Y-o-Y increase. This growth is largely underpinned by the ‘Make in India’ initiative and a structural shift in the apparel industry toward high-performance, moisture-wicking fabrics and athleisure.
Analysts suggest, the new directors will be tasked with optimizing operational efficiencies at the company’s 672,000-ton Butibori complex. Strategic board restructuring is essential to deal with the current volatility in global raw material prices while expanding their footprint in value-added filaments. The integration of Gupta’s four decades of manufacturing oversight is expected to drive the company’s goal of increasing EBITDA margins, which recently stabilized at Rs 245 crore following a period of intensive debt rationalization.
