Indorama India's spandex innovations revolutionize textile industry

At the Fiber & Yarn Exhibition in Mumbai, Nilesh Sevak, head of Domestic Sales, Indorama India (IIPL), emphasized the company's commitment to innovation, stating that it is deeply ingrained in their culture. IIPL's Spandex plant in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, showcases their dedication to excellence, boasting advanced continuous polymerisation and dry spinning technology to produce spandex yarn branded as Inviya.

Sevak highlighted IIPL's remarkable growth since its establishment in 2012, from an initial capacity of 5,000 tonnes per annum to an impressive scale of 25,000 tonnes per annum. He attributed this growth to their unwavering focus on quality and innovation.

Rahul Singh, the Business Development Head, underscored IIPL's sustainability initiatives, particularly their brand ECOModa100. He mentioned their 100 per cent recycled spandex, made from pre-consumer spandex waste, and highlighted their efforts towards developing Bio-Spandex to further enhance their sustainable offerings, holding RCS 100 and EU Reach certifications.

Despite recent market fluctuations, both Sevak and Singh expressed optimism about the future of the spandex market. They emphasized the growing demand for spandex in various sectors such as athleisure, sportswear, and emerging applications, driven by consumer preferences for comfort and performance.

In conclusion, IIPL's commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability positions them as leaders in the spandex industry, with a promising outlook for future growth both domestically and in export markets.
