JUKI's India expansion includes ‘Made in India’ focus

JUKI Corporation, a global leader in sewing technology, has taken a significant step towards strengthening its market presence in South Asia. The company recently shipped its first ‘Made in India’ sewing machines from its new manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The DDL-7000A Series, the initial products to roll off the Indian assembly line, are single-needle lockstitch machines known for their efficiency and reliability. This marks a crucial milestone in JUKI's strategy to diversify its manufacturing base and mitigate supply chain risks.

The establishment of the Indian facility aligns with JUKI's ‘Medium-term Management Plan’, which aims to enhance the company's global competitiveness. By producing sewing machines locally, JUKI can better cater to the surging demand for industrial sewing equipment in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and other regions.

The new plant, covering approximately 6,000 square meters, is a testament to JUKI's commitment to the Indian market. The company's decision to invest in local manufacturing reflects its confidence in India's economic growth and its potential as a major hub for the textile and apparel industry.
