Karnataka approves textile park in Karkala
A long-awaited project has taken a significant step forward with the Karnataka state cabinet's approval of a Rs 270 million textile park in Karkala. The textile park, to be developed through a public-private partnership (PPP) model, was initially proposed in 2020-21. The project gained momentum in March 2023 when V Sunil Kumar, then Minister for Energy, Kannada, and Culture, laid its foundation.
The park's establishment is expected to create numerous employment opportunities for local residents, contributing to the region's economic growth. This development marks a culmination of years of planning and efforts, as the project had faced delays in the past. However, the proactive approach of the current government has ensured its progress. The textile park is poised to become a pivotal factor in the economic landscape of Karkala and the surrounding areas.
