Kasturi cotton targets contamination with just 2% trash content: Texprocil
Kasturi cotton, introduced just three months ago, heralds a new era in cotton production, boasting a mere two percent trash content compared to the usual three percent found in Indian cotton.
Siddhartha Rajagopal, Executive Director of Texprocil, emphasized the pivotal role of Kasturi cotton in combating contamination, attributing its success to superior moisture content, fiber strength, and a staple length ranging from 29 to 30 mm. At Bharat Tex 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged directly with farmers and ginners, discussing the manifold benefits and premium pricing associated with this innovative strain.
Rajagopal highlighted the significance of Kasturi cotton's premium pricing, underscoring the rewards reaped by adhering to sound agricultural practices. The exchange between Modi and stakeholders at the Sustainability Pavilion underscored the transformative potential of Kasturi cotton, promising a future free from contamination and bolstered by quality-driven parameters.
As the journey of Kasturi cotton unfolds, Rajagopal expressed optimism about its growing momentum, signalling a promising trajectory for sustainable cotton production in India.
