KVIC, NIFT partner to revitalize khadi

The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) have joined forces to elevate the iconic khadi brand. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two organizations aims to boost khadi's appeal both domestically and internationally.
Under the partnership, NIFT will provide its expertise in fashion design, technology, and market trends to revitalize khadi. Key initiatives include training programs for khadi institutions, designing innovative garments, renovating Khadi Bhavans, and developing new, high-quality khadi products.
The Khadi Centre of Excellence 2.0 (COEK 2.0) will play a pivotal role in these efforts. NIFT will establish a hub in New Delhi and spoke centers in several cities to strengthen the khadi brand. Additionally, initiatives like the Khadi Knowledge Portal, fashion shows, exhibitions, and the establishment of modern sales outlets will further empower khadi.
KVIC Chairman Manoj Kumar expressed optimism about the partnership, stating that NIFT's expertise will make khadi more attractive to the youth. The collaboration is expected to significantly enhance khadi's reach and popularity, positioning it as a sustainable and fashionable choice for consumers.
