The International Cotton Association (ICA) has elected a new leadership team, with Mohomed Bashir, Chairman of Gul Ahmed Textile Mills, appointed as the role of President. Bashir will be supported by Pierre Chehab as First Vice-President and Eimear McDonagh as Second Vice-President.

In his inaugural speech, Bashir emphasized the importance of inclusivity and collaboration within the cotton industry. He highlighted the challenges facing the sector, including climate change, market volatility, and evolving regulations, and stressed the need for united action to address these issues.

Bashir's appointment marks a significant milestone for the ICA, as he is the first Pakistani to lead the organization. His extensive experience in the textile industry and his commitment to promoting diversity and sustainability make him well-suited for this role.

The new ICA board also includes Rob Wakefield, Sanchia Chowdhury, and Tom Phan, who bring a diverse range of expertise to the organization. With this strong leadership team in place, the ICA is poised to continue its mission of promoting the sustainable growth of the cotton industry.
