Première Vision LoI opens India's path to EU textile buyers

The exchange of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between the Bharat Tex Trade Federation and Première Vision marks a milestone for Indian textile and apparel manufacturers. By formalizing this institutional collaboration at Bharat Tex 2026, the Indian textile sector secures a structured pathway to engage with European fashion houses and major retail buyers. This partnership arrives as the industry prepares for the implementation of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, which is expected to bridge critical competitiveness gaps that have historically disadvantaged Indian exporters against regional peers.

For manufacturers like GHCL Textiles, which is currently using 98 per cent of its capacity and a 75 per cent green energy transition, this alliance offers a premium venue to showcase high-performance materials. As European markets tighten compliance under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and Digital Product Passport mandates, India’s focus on traceable, GOTS-certified production becomes a primary differentiator. Industry leaders anticipate, this visibility will help reduce the export volatility observed in early FY27, shifting the focus from volume-driven commodity trade to high-margin, innovation-led value chains that align with global ESG standards.
