Reliance Industries launches Hararel Fiberfill at Heimtextil 2026
At the just concluded Frankfurt Heimtextil 2026 trade fair, Reliance Industries (RIL) secured its position at the vanguard of the technical textile sector by debuting its graphene-enhanced Herarel Fiberfill. This next-generation material marks a shift in high-performance apparel, offering reliable thermoregulation at extreme temperatures as low as -60°C. By leveraging the superior heat retention and anti-static properties of graphene, RIL has achieved a 30 per cent increase in TOG/CLO values compared to standard synthetic fills, positioning the fiber as a direct, ethical competitor to traditional duck down.
The commercial strategy centers on making circularity price-competitive. Through its Recron Innovations’ arm, the company is scaling Ecotherm and R|Elan Super fibers- derived from post-consumer PET waste, to serve as high-bulk, wool-like alternatives for the global knitwear market. The objective is to eliminate the cost barrier to sustainability, notes an industry analyst during the Q3 FY26 earnings preview, where RIL's consolidated revenue is projected to grow by 8 per cent Y-o-Y.
Despite global logistics headwinds, RIL’s integrated manufacturing model allows these sustainable yarns to enter the market with a reduced ‘green premium,’ targeting a burgeoning technical textiles market in India projected to reach $28.7 billion by 2030.
Reliance Industries is India's largest private sector conglomerate, leading the global polyester market through its Recron brand. It focuses on sustainable B2B2C solutions like R|Elan for apparel and home textiles. With a steady 7 per cent–9 per cent EBITDA growth in Q3 FY26, RIL is expanding its circular economy footprint through nationwide PET recycling and advanced fiber R&D.
