Rudra Ecovation invests in capacity expansion

Ludhiana-based Rudra Ecovation is investing in both sustainability and production capacity. Formerly known as Himachal Fibers, the company is investing in a 20 MW solar plant, which is expected to meet nearly 50 per cent of its total energy needs. Furthermore, it is adopting dope dyeing technology to eliminate the use of water and chemicals, ensuring a pollution-free and sustainable process.
Currently the largest vertically integrated factory in Asia for recycling rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate) bottles, Rudra Ecovation is also increasing its fabric processing capacity. Akhil Malhotra, Chairman and Managing Director, opines, this strategic enhancement will enable the company to fully utilize its knitting fabric capacity, thereby strengthening overall operational efficiency and production capabilities.
Currently, Rudra Ecovation employs about 4,500 people and is in the process of merging Shiva Texfab with the company. The company’s integrated facility recycles over 8.8 million bottles per day, converting them into flakes, fibers, yarns, knitted fabrics, and nonwoven fabrics, all under one roof. Its sustainable fabrics are sold under the flagship brand, Anaura.
