Sanathan Textiles is aggressively expanding its industrial footprint, with a capital expenditure of Rs 595 crore to move its manufacturing focus toward high-margin technical textiles and specialized yarn segments. This investment across Silvassa, Punjab, and Madhya Pradesh marks a departure from traditional commodity cotton spinning, helping the company to capitalize on the increasing domestic demand for performance-based industrial materials.

The expansion involves doubling technical textile yarn capacity at its Silvassa facility to 18,000 mtpa, and boosting operations at its newly commissioned Punjab polyester unit. By increasing its geographical presence, they aim to optimize regional logistics while reducing regulatory and labor risks. Experts say, this shift into high-tenacity and low-shrinkage yarns, essential for sectors like automotive, ballistic protection, and infrastructure acts as a shield against the cyclical price volatility inherent in standard apparel yarn markets.

Beyond growth, the company has earmarked Rs 210 crore for debt reduction, a move intended to stabilize the balance sheet amid heavy capital investment. The dual approach of capacity building and financial consolidation underscores an intent to capture higher EBITDA margins in a competitive market.
