Backed by a strong operational turnaround in its primary spinning division, Trident Limited delivered a decisive performance in Q1, FY27. The Punjab-based manufacturer leveraged its internal yarn capacity to maintain firm operating margins at 17.55 per cent. The company’s yarn business emerged as the top earnings generator, recording Rs 954 crore in quarterly revenue.

Profit was reinforced by a combination of higher international yarn realizations, disciplined procurement of raw cotton, and optimized asset utilization across its spinning infrastructure. The segment's operating profit nearly doubled year-on-year to Rs 145.83 crore, expanding segment EBIT margins to 15.28 per cent and insulating the company from sharp margin declines experienced in finished home textile segments. Indian spinning mills are dealing with intense global competition by shifting focus toward high-count combed cotton, compact yarns, and value-added sustainable fiber blends.

Trident’s integrated manufacturing model - which feeds yarn directly into its towel and bed linen production while selling surplus capacity to global markets - continues to mitigate market risks. Deepak Nanda, Managing Director, notes, disciplined operational control and improved yarn pricing structures were essential to driving profitability across the primary supply chain during the quarter.

A vertically integrated manufacturer specializing in yarn, bath and bed linen, wheat straw-based paper, and chemicals, Trident operates large-scale plants in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh. The brand serves domestic markets and exports to over 100 countries. it plans to scale higher-margin specialized yarns and expand retail presence. Established in 1990 as Solitaire Processors, Trident grew into a global home textiles leader with multi-billion-rupee annual revenues.
