SRF reinforces technical textiles leadership with new VP appointment

SRF Limited has appointed Piyush Roy the new Vice President and Complex Head (DTA2), a move intended to stabilize and scale its technical textiles vertical following a period of cyclical headwinds. The appointment comes as the global technical textiles market is projected to reach $264.42 billion in 2026, driven by a 5.3 per cent CAGR.
For SRF, the technical textiles segment remains a critical industrial pillar, despite a recent 11 per cent revenue drop in Q3FY26 caused by aggressive pricing from Chinese competitors and lower demand for belting fabrics in the US market. Roy’s extensive operational background is expected to drive the debottlenecking of production lines and enhance capacity utilization, which currently supports SRF's status as India’s leading manufacturer of tire cord fabrics and industrial yarns.
By prioritizing process innovation and high-performance materials, SRF aims to reduce the impact of fluctuating raw material costs and global logistics disruptions. The company has allocated a significant portion of its projected Rs 2,200-2,300 crore capital expenditure for FY26 toward technological upgrades and sustainability-focused manufacturing. This operational shift focuses on higher-margin industrial solutions, such as aramid fabrics and conductive yarn-based lightweight materials. As the automotive and infrastructure sectors demand more resilient reinforcement materials, Roy’s leadership at the DTA2 complex will be instrumental in executing SRF’s strategy to regain market share and deliver sustained EBITDA growth through 2027.
SRF Limited is a diversified Indian conglomerate and a global leader in technical textiles, chemicals, and packaging films. With a strong presence in over 100 countries, it specializes in tire cord fabrics and belting fabrics. SRF plans a Rs 23 billion capex in FY26, targeting a 20 per cent growth in its specialty segment
