Suedwolle Group partners Knitwear Lab for innovative Merino creations

Suedwolle Group has announced a new collaboration with Knitwear Lab, a Dutch design and development center, combining Knitwear Lab’s knitting expertise with Suedwolle's renowned Biella yarn collection of high-quality Merino yarns. This partnership has resulted in the creation of innovative physical and virtual garments, recently showcased at Pitti Filati in Florence.
The collaboration features two standout pieces, a fully fashioned dress crafted from Merino wool from the Biella yarn collection, utilizing a plated rib structure with advanced narrowing techniques, and a jacket with a 3D structure featuring double jersey flaps. Both garments highlight the intricate craftsmanship and innovation possible through this partnership.
A key challenge in digital knitwear is the accurate virtual representation of complex yarns and structures. Knitwear Lab addresses this by ensuring that virtual models are closely linked to material specifications from the Biella Yarn collection, allowing for efficient product development. This approach saves time and materials, enabling designers to experiment extensively in the digital realm. The partnership sets a new standard for innovation in fashion, seamlessly integrating physical and digital textiles.
