Processing over 40 million meters of woven fabric daily, Surat’s man-made fiber cluster is increasing its integration into structured national B2B supply chains through dedicated trade syndication platforms. At the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 in New Delhi, a consolidated delegation of 60 regional weaving, dyeing, and synthetic garment vendors, operating across a 10,000-sq-ft trade pavilion at Bharat Mandapam, established direct procurement agreements with institutional buyers and pan-India retail chains.

By bypassing multi-tiered wholesale channels, the platform allows micro-enterprises and women-led textile units to retain stronger operating margins on printed polyesters, viscose blends, and finished ethnic wear. For example, participating sari and dress material manufacturers reported 15 to 18 per cent margin improvement by shifting from unorganized regional brokers to direct corporate contracts.

Consolidating independent fabric producers under a unified trade framework solves long-standing distribution bottlenecks for Surat’s decentralized weaving sector, says Ajay Ajmera, Founder and CEO, Ajmera Fashion. While synthetic filament yarn price fluctuations and freight surcharges create ongoing operational pressure, structured trade showcases provide MSME fabric mills with the order book visibility needed to upgrade waterjet weaving technology and scale capacity.
