In a strategic realignment aimed at tightening operational control across northern and central spinning clusters, Trident Limited appointed Pardeep Kumar Markanday the new Chief Executive Officer for its yarn business across Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.  Managing nearly eight lakh spindles, Trident relies heavily on internal yarn generation, utilizing roughly half of its total spinning output to feed downstream home textile, bed linen, and bath towel divisions.

With the yarn business unit generating revenue worth Rs 954 crore in Q1, FY27, the leadership change reinforces manufacturing efficiency at primary hubs in Sanghera and Budni amid fluctuating raw cotton lint prices and volatile synthetic feedstock tariffs. Directing regional expertise toward supply chain discipline allows the company to shield operating margins while securing specialized, higher-count yarn feeds for global export contracts, states a company executive.

This move reflects a broader trend among vertically integrated Indian textile groups, where dedicated leadership is deployed to optimize asset utilization and scale technical fiber blends. Recent mill modernization efforts at Budni serve as a clear case study, demonstrating how captive spinning consistency directly reduces manufacturing overhead for finished fabric operations.
