Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath showcases state's global competitiveness at Silk Expo

<div class="template-1"> At the Silk Expo 2024, being held in Lucknow from Oct 22-28, 2024, Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh emphasised on the state's potential to compete globally in the readymade garment industry.

Smaller nations with fewer resources have established strong positions in the industry, Adityanath emphasised, With its abundant resources, India has the potential to outperform global competitors, he added.

Highlighting 84-fold growth in silk production under his administration, he urged stakeholders to engage more women in silk production, processing, designing, and marketing to elevate Uttar Pradesh’s standing in the industry.

 Adityanath also praised the 'One District, One Product' (ODOP) initiative, which has boosted employment and exports, linking traditional crafts with market access. The chief minister stressed the importance of expanding silk clusters and urged farmers to participate, supported by government schemes.

Further, he mentioned the upcoming PM Mitra Park, a 1,000-acre textile hub on the Lucknow-Hardoi border, as a major step toward making Uttar Pradesh a global leader in textiles.
