Peter Ackroyd has been appointed as the new Chairman of The Campaign for Wool, succeeding Sir Nicholas Coleridge after 14 years. Ackroyd, a veteran of the wool industry with over 50 years of experience, brings a wealth of knowledge to the role.

As former COO of the organisation, Ackroyd has been instrumental in driving its initiatives since 2009. He has held key positions in the industry, including President of the International Wool Textile Organisation and Global Strategic Advisor for Australian Wool Innovation.

Ackroyd will prioritize addressing the challenges facing the wool industry, particularly the European Union's Environmental Footprint (PEF) legislation. He will work closely with the IWTO to ensure the PEF methodology accurately reflects the environmental benefits of wool, including its renewability, biodegradability, and contribution to mitigating microplastic pollution.
