Zhejiang Sitong boosts polyester yarn output with Oerlikon BCF system

Zhejiang Sitong New Material Technology, a leading carpet yarn manufacturer in Asia, is boosting its polyester yarn production by commissioning an Oerlikon Neumag BCF S+ system. This expansion aims to enhance the company's balanced production of polyester, polyamide 6, and polypropylene yarns.

With an annual capacity of 50,000 tons, Sitong is one of Asia's largest BCF yarn producers. The new BCF S+ positions support the increasing demand for polyester carpet yarns. Tang Liang, the company's president, highlighted their broad portfolio approach, which strengthens their ability to navigate market fluctuations. He credited the investment in Oerlikon Neumag technology as a key factor in their success both locally and internationally.

The BCF S+ system is flexible, producing both polyester and polyamide 6 yarns. This versatility enables Sitong to adapt to market trends quickly. Sun Peng, Sales Director at Oerlikon Neumag China, highlighted the rising demand for BCF yarns in Asia, driven by growth in the automotive and hospitality sectors.

The Chinese carpet market has seen significant post-pandemic growth, especially with increased hotel renovations and construction.
