In its recent board meeting, Amit Spinning Industries, also known as Girnar Spintex, approved a proposal to partially sell a few of its old machines. This sale is in line with the company's plan to modernize its manufacturing operations. The company has installed new and updated machinery, including Schlaforst Autoconer 338 Machines and an Uster Cotton testing machine, to improve product quality and enhance machine life.

Sharmanji Yarns has proposed an investment of Rs 836.7 crore at the PM MITRA Park in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. The company is one of several textile firms that have committed to investing in the park, which is being established to boost India's textile sector. The Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Dhar is one of seven such parks being developed across India. These parks are a part of a central government initiative to create large-scale, world-class textile manufacturing hubs. The park in Dhar is located in the Bhainsola village of the Badnawar tehsil.

The Maharashtra state government has approved a final payout of Rs 50 crore for 1,124 workers of the now-defunct Nagpur Weavers' Cooperative Spinning Mill (Sutgirni). Formalized through a Government Resolution (GR) on August 28, 2025, this decision comes as a one-time ex-gratia grant to settle the pending dues of the workers. The funds for this payout will come from the proceeds of the sale of 20.20 acre of the mill's land to the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) for Rs 177 crore.

The latest USDA report says, India's cotton production for the MY25/26 is projected to decline by 2 per cent from previous estimates to 24.5 million 480-pound bales (5.4 million metric tons) from 11.2 million hectare The decline is a result of farmers switching to more profitable crops like rice, pulses, and cereals.

Cotton yarn prices in South India have declined due to sluggish demand, although export orders are expected to rise in the coming months. In Tiruppur, cotton yarn prices have eased by Rs 5-8 per kg, while rates in Mumbai have remained steady. Despite the weak demand, spinning mills are resisting official rate cuts but are offering discounts to attract buyers and secure orders.
