Brazilian cotton production reaches new heights in 2023-24 season

The Brazilian cotton sector is experiencing a successful 2023-24 growing season, with production reaching 17,089,252 bales. This figure is a testament of the hard work and dedication of Brazilian cotton farmers, as well as the industry's commitment to quality, traceability, and sustainability.
The Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (ABRAPA) and the Brazilian Cotton Growers Association (CBRA) have released a quality report detailing the 2023-24 season's achievement. The report highlights the significant role played by the High-Volume Instrument (HVI) labs in analyzing 100 per cent of Brazilian cotton production. With 12 classing labs and 83 HVI machines across the country, the labs ensure that Brazilian cotton meets the highest quality standards.
Key quality indicators
The quality report provides detailed statistics on various fibre properties, including micronaire, strength, length, uniformity, short fibre index, reflectance, and yellowness. The data is presented in the form of graphs and tables, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the quality of Brazilian cotton.
