Amann opens sustainable thread plant in India
German thread manufacturer Amann has opened its first Indian production plant in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu. The facility will focus on high-quality sewing and embroidery threads for the leather and apparel industries.
This is Amann’s sustainable plant yet, equipped with cutting-edge technology to minimize environmental impact. The plant utilizes a Zero Liquid Discharge system and renewable energy sources like solar and biomass to reduce water usage and energy consumption.
Spanning over 32,000 square meters, the plant will create employment for 200 people. Amann also promises technical advisory services to its customers to optimize product usage.
Peter Morgalla, Chairman of Amann India, said this plant strengthens their ability to deliver high-quality products with short lead times throughout Asia. This investment highlights Amann's long-term commitment to the Indian market, where they have been present since 2007 with sales offices in key cities.
