Andhra Pradesh's Saluru market to open cotton procurement centre for fair prices

Parvathipuram Manyam district is taking steps to safeguard the interests of cotton farmers by establishing a new cotton procurement centre at the Saluru market yard. The facility is scheduled to commence operations within the next two days.
The initiative, announced by District Agricultural Trade & Marketing Officer I Gangadhara Rao, comes in response to concerns over declining cotton prices. The new centre aims to provide farmers with a reliable platform to sell their produce at fair prices.
Gangadhar Rao, District Agricultural Trade & Marketing Officer, assured cotton farmers of a fair deal. He warned farmers to be cautious about dealing with unauthorized brokers who could potentially exploit them.
The new centre is expected to stabilize the local cotton trade and reduce the reliance of farmers on intermediaries. The District Agricultural Trade & Marketing Officer has urged all cotton farmers to utilize this official procurement facility.
