Andhra Pradesh to launch new textile policy.
Andhra Pradesh is set to introduce a new textile and garments policy aimed at boosting investment and job creation in the sector. The announcement was made by State Textile Minister S Savitha.
The new policy is expected to create a favorable environment for textile industry investors. According to Savitha, the government is actively working to address the concerns of industrialists who had left the state or ceased operations during the previous administration.
Andhra Pradesh offers significant potential for textile unit establishment, particularly in the agro textiles, geo textiles, and mobile textiles sub-sectors. The state's strong agricultural base and strategic location provide a competitive advantage for textile manufacturers.
In addition to its investment potential, Andhra Pradesh ranks high in textile production. The state is the second-largest silk producer, sixth-largest cotton producer, and seventh-largest jute producer in India. Moreover, it boasts nine textile and apparel parks, including three in the private sector.
