Archroma, Kipaş Denim and Jeanologia launch sustainable denim innovation

Archroma, a global leader in specialty chemicals, Kipaş Denim, a leading Turkish textile producer, and Jeanologia, a sustainable textile solutions company, have collaborated to create an innovative denim finishing process.

The trio's innovation, dubbed Contra Denim, offers brands a cleaner, more sustainable way to achieve stunning distressed denim looks. Traditional denim production methods require significant water, chemicals, and manual labor. Contra Denim, however, uses laser and laundry-friendly techniques to create intricate patterns, whiskering, and fades while reducing environmental impact.

Powered by Archroma's Denim Halo technology, Contra Denim delivers deep, durable colors and vintage effects. Jeanologia's advanced laser marking technology eliminates the need for harmful manual processes like hand scraping or potassium permanganate spraying. This collaboration marks a significant step towards more sustainable denim production. By combining their expertise, the three have created a product that not only looks great but also minimizes environmental footprint.
