Asia Pacific Rayon makes big splash at Bangladesh Textile Expo
Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), a leading viscose staple fibre producer, made a strong presence at the 18th Dhaka International Textile and Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG). This marks their second consecutive appearance, highlighting their focus on sustainable fashion solutions for a key market.
"Bangladesh is a cornerstone of our growth," says Tapan Sannigrahi, Vice President of APR. With a 55 per cent share in the country's viscose fibre market and ambitions to introduce Lyocell, APR is a key player in Bangladesh's sustainable fashion shift.
The textile sector is a major driver of Bangladesh's economy, ranking second in textile and garment exports. Recognizing this, APR collaborates with leading companies to promote viscose and Lyocell as eco-friendly alternatives. Sannigrahi emphasizes, "Viscose is the fastest-growing fibre here, reducing energy and water consumption during production, and its biodegradability makes it even more attractive."
Headquartered in Jakarta, APR is part of the Royal Golden Eagle group. They operate Asia Pacific Yarn (APY), a yarn spinning facility, and are already making their mark in Bangladesh's yarn market. Their high-quality fibres and yarns are sold across Indonesia and 16 other markets, solidifying their global presence.
