Better Cotton Council announces new leadership and members

The Better Cotton Council (BCC), the world's largest sustainable cotton initiative, has appointed new leaders. Bill Ballenden from Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) and Tamar Hoek from Solidaridad will co-chair the BCC. They will lead the council and ensure policy decisions are made considering all perspectives.

BCC also welcomed new members. Doug Forster from JCrew Group, Elodie Gilart from Marks & Spencer, Nadia Bilal from Nishat Chunian, Vicente Sando from Mozambique's National Forum of Cotton Farmers (FONPA), and Rajan Bhopal from Pan UK will join the council. These new members bring experience in sustainability, sourcing, and farmer advocacy.

The BCC also said goodbye to three members who completed their terms: Gerson Fajardo of Walmart, Pierre Chebab of Louis Dreyfus Company, and Kevin Quinlan.

The BCC council members are selected every two years and come from all sectors of the cotton industry. They are responsible for setting the direction of the BCC to make cotton production more sustainable.
