British Wool celebrates record-breaking shearers and industry growth

British Wool celebrated a series of record-breaking achievements at its recent AGM and annual conference. Staffordshire-based Nick Greaves set a new world record for lamb shearing, while Scottish shearer Una Cameron broke the women's solo strong wool ewe record. Welsh shearer Meirion Evans also secured a British record.

These achievements were met with praise from British Wool CEO, Andrew Hogley, who also highlighted the positive trajectory of wool prices. Recent auctions have seen prices rise by over 25 per cent since the start of the season, offering hope for improved returns to farmers.
