China's textile industry booms as Intertextile Shanghai returns.
China's leading textile trade show Intertextile Shanghai, is back from March 6-8 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre. This year's event marks a significant return, coinciding with China's end to its zero-Covid policy and the introduction of visa-free entry for select European countries.
Almost 3,000 exhibitors will showcase textile diversity, expect a massive display across 190,000 sq. mt. featuring collections from both Chinese and international exhibitors. From apparel fabrics and accessories to home textiles and yarns, the variety is vast.
While Intertextile aims to cater primarily to China's booming domestic market, it also welcomes international buyers. The event coincides with other major shows like Chic (apparel) and PH Value (knitwear), attracting a combined 1,200 exhibitors.
Sustainability is a key theme, with a dedicated section featuring 25 suppliers and an Oeko-tex pavilion. Innovation shines in sections like Functional Lab (performance fabrics) and Premium Wool Zone (high-end wool and cashmere). The SalonEurope section brings premium fabrics from France, Italy, and Turkey, while Verve for Design showcases local, European, and Australian textile design companies.
The new visa-free policy for select European countries is expected to attract more buyers, boosting international participation. Overall, Intertextile 2024 promises a vibrant showcase of the textile industry, reflecting China's resurgent market and its growing global reach.
