Cotton arrivals reach 5.33 lakh metric tonnes in 2024-25 season

As of November 14, 2024, daily cotton arrivals across India for the 2024-2025 season was 1.55 lakh bales (26,486 metric tonnes), according to the Cotton Association of India (CAI). Telangana led the daily arrivals with 32,500 bales, while Gujarat followed with 27,700 bales. Maharashtra recorded 26,300 bales, and North India contributed 16,000 bales.
The cumulative cotton arrival for the season stands at 31.35 lakh bales, translating to 5.33 lakh metric tonnes. Gujarat leads cumulative arrivals with 6.82 lakh bales (1.15 lakh metric tonnes), followed by Maharashtra at 4.77 lakh bales (81,141 metric tonnes) and Karnataka with 4.86 lakh bales (82,739 metric tonnes).
Telangana’s total contribution so far is 4.57 lakh bales, reaching 77,724 metric tonnes, while Andhra Pradesh added 2.83 lakh bales (48,161 metric tonnes). Smaller contributions were noted from Tamil Nadu and Odisha, with cumulative arrivals at 30,300 and 1,700 bales, respectively.
The figures underscore a steady pace in cotton arrivals this season, with substantial input from the leading states.
