Daily cotton arrivals for April 22, 2025, total 38,700 bales: CAI
India's total cotton arrivals stood at 38,700 bales on April 22, 2025, as per data released by the Cotton Association of India (CAI) for the 2024-2025 season. Gujarat led the daily intake with 16,600 bales, followed by Maharashtra at 14,700 bales and North India with 2,200 bales.
Other states including Madhya Pradesh (1,500 bales), Karnataka (1,400 bales), Telangana (900 bales), Andhra Pradesh (800 bales), and Tamil Nadu (600 bales) reported moderate arrivals. Odisha and other regions accounted for no arrivals on the day.
The total cumulative arrivals for the season reached 2.60 crore bales or 44.26 lakh metric tonnes. Maharashtra remains the top contributor with 70.40 lakh bales, followed by Gujarat at 61.46 lakh bales and Telangana at 47.44 lakh bales. North India recorded 26.37 lakh bales cumulatively.
In metric tonnes, Maharashtra has delivered 11.96 lakh tonnes to date, Gujarat 10.44 lakh tonnes, and the North 4.48 lakh tonnes. The data reflects steady momentum in cotton arrivals amid the ongoing harvest cycle. With most major cotton-growing states still contributing daily, industry watchers are closely monitoring the trend for supply chain insights and pricing outlook.
