Daily cotton arrivals for December 4, 2024, total 199,300 bales: CAI

The Cotton Association of India has reported a total of 199,300 bales of cotton arriving at markets across the country on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. The total daily arrivals in metric tons amounted to 33,881, as part of the ongoing cotton season 2024-2025.
Among the states, Telangana saw the highest daily arrival with 72,000 bales, amounting to 12,240 metric tons. Maharashtra followed closely with 38,000 bales (6,460 metric tons), while Gujarat reported 31,000 bales (5,270 metric tons). North India, including states like Haryana and Punjab, contributed 18,500 bales (3,145 metric tons) to the daily total.
Other significant contributors included Karnataka with 19,300 bales (3,281 metric tons), Madhya Pradesh with 9,800 bales (1,666 metric tons), and Andhra Pradesh with 9,000 bales (1,530 metric tons). Smaller arrivals were seen in Tamil Nadu and Odisha, with 500 and 1,200 bales, respectively. Cumulatively, India has received 62,15,400 bales (10,56,618 metric tons) of cotton so far this season, with Telangana leading the pack in cumulative arrivals with 13,90,600 bales (23,46,402 metric tons).
