Daily cotton arrivals for January 10, 2025, total 1,90,900 bales: CAI
The Cotton Association of India (CAI) has released its state-wise estimates of daily cotton arrivals for Friday, 10 January 2025. The total arrivals across India stood at 1,90,900 bales (170 kg each), amounting to 32,453 metric tonnes.
Maharashtra reported the highest daily arrival of 66,000 bales (11,220 metric tonnes), followed by Telangana at 37,000 bales (6,290 metric tonnes), and Gujarat at 31,000 bales (5,270 metric tonnes). Other significant contributors included Karnataka with 15,500 bales and Madhya Pradesh with 13,500 bales.
Cumulatively, the total cotton arrivals for the 2024-2025 season have reached 1,41,74,200 bales (24,09,614 metric tonnes). Gujarat leads the cumulative tally with 24,55,200 bales, closely followed by Maharashtra at 28,94,900 bales and Telangana with 35,62,900 bales.
Smaller contributors such as Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and the "Others" category accounted for a combined total of 7,500 bales in daily arrivals. North India registered 13,000 bales, with Andhra Pradesh at 8,400 bales. These figures underline the robust production trends for the current cotton season, with major states showing consistent contributions to the national output.
