Daily cotton arrivals for March 21, total 74,500 bales: CAI
India recorded daily cotton arrivals of 74,500 bales (170 kg each) on March 21, 2025, says the Cotton Association of India (CAI). Maharashtra led arrivals with 30,600 bales, followed by Gujarat at 26,700 bales and North India at 6,300 bales. Other key contributors included Madhya Pradesh (3,100 bales), Telangana and Karnataka (2,600 bales each), Andhra Pradesh (1,700 bales), Odisha (500 bales), and Tamil Nadu (400 bales).
Cumulatively, total cotton arrivals for the season have reached 23.93 million bales, with Maharashtra leading at 6.35 million bales, followed by Gujarat at 5.27 million bales and Telangana at 4.72 million bales.
Other states, Madhya Pradesh (1.70 million bales), Karnataka (1.97 million bales), and Andhra Pradesh (0.91 million bales) contributed significantly. Tamil Nadu and Odisha reported cumulative arrivals of 1.30 million bales and 0.82 million bales, respectively.
The arrivals reflect steady inflows as the cotton season progresses, with major cotton-producing states continuing to drive the supply. Market analysts are watching price trends amid fluctuating global demand and domestic consumption patterns.
