French companies Carbios and Nouvelles Fibres Textiles have announced a partnership to recycle polyester textiles. Carbios, a pioneer in biological technologies, will use its enzymatic process to break down polyester into reusable materials at its new bio-recycling plant in Longlaville. Nouvelles Fibres Textiles will supply the plant with 5,000 tons of recycled polyester annually starting in 2026.

This collaboration aims to create a circular economy for textiles by transforming waste into valuable resources. By combining Carbios innovative technology with Nouvelles Fibres Textiles' expertise in textile recovery, the partnership is a significant step towards reducing textile waste and promoting sustainable fashion.

France's commitment to environmental sustainability, backed by supportive legislation, is driving this initiative. As the EU mandates textile waste collection from 2025, this partnership positions France as a leader in the circular economy.
