Good Fashion Fund invests $2 million in KKP Fine Linen's sustainable expansion in India
The Good Fashion Fund (GFF), in collaboration with the Laudes Foundation and Fashion for Good’s fund managed by Fount, has invested $2 million in KKP Fine Linen Private Limited (KKPFL), a prominent Indian bed linen manufacturer. The loan will support the installation of an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) at KKPFL’s new wet processing unit in Perundurai, Tamil Nadu. This initiative is aimed at improving sustainability and operational efficiency.
With India emerging as a key player in the home textiles market, KKPFL is poised to expand by integrating processing operations. This will not only enhance manufacturing efficiency but also ensure the company meets stringent environmental standards, reducing chemical consumption, freshwater usage, and material waste. Additionally, KKPFL operates on 100 per cent renewable energy, with nearly 40 megawatts sourced from its in-house solar and wind plants.
Sathesh Kumar Nallathambi, MD of KKPFL expressed excitement over the partnership, emphasizing the company’s commitment to sustainable practices. Bob Assenberg, Fund Director of GFF, highlighted the potential of this investment to demonstrate the success of sustainable manufacturing in India’s home textiles industry. This collaboration marks a significant step forward for KKPFL’s growth and sustainability efforts.
