Hyosung showcases sustainable textiles at Future Fabrics Expo in London.

Fashion brands are facing pressure to meet stricter sustainability standards by 2030. In response, they're seeking eco-friendly fabrics at the ongoing Future Fabrics Expo in London. Hyosung, a textile leader, is showcasing its sustainable solutions at the event.

Hyosung offers a range of certified sustainable fibers, including recycled and bio-based options. Their regen line includes recycled elastane, nylon, and polyester. Notably, Hyosung was the first to commercialize bio-based elastane (regen BIO) at scale in 2022.

Renewable materials are a major focus for Hyosung. Their regen BIO elastane has already been adopted by brands like Pangaia and Icebreaker. Hyosung is further strengthening its bio-based offerings by partnering with Geno to build a plant in Vietnam that will produce Bio BDO, a key component, from sugarcane. This facility, expected to be operational in 2026, will be the world's first fully integrated bio-based elastane manufacturing site.

Hyosung also caters to brands seeking recycled materials. They offer 100 per cent recycled regen elastane, nylon made from discarded fishing nets (regen Ocean), and multifunctional polyester made from recycled plastic bottles.

Hyosung's participation in the Future Fabrics Expo and their investment in bio-based materials highlight their commitment to sustainability. This aligns with the wider textile industry's efforts to meet evolving environmental goals.
