ICAR-CIRCOT signs five MoUs to revolutionize cotton storage and productivity

The ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (ICAR-CIRCOT) has forged impactful partnerships with leading industry players to drive innovation in the cotton and agriculture sectors. The institute signed four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Farmtek Solutions, Micro Sales India, United Cotton Extract Pvt Ltd, and Prakash Agro Plast, focusing on the commercialization of the ‘Seed Cotton Collection & Storage Bag with Anti-microbial Finish’ technology.
This breakthrough solution aims to reduce contamination and trash content in cotton during collection and storage. Trash content can vary widely from 1 per cent in premium cotton to 15 per cent in lower-quality varieties. The new technology promises to standardize quality and minimize these discrepancies, enhancing the overall cotton quality.
Additionally, ICAR-CIRCOT entered an MoU with Relegare Agro Life Bio Science Pvt Ltd to commercialize their ‘Nano-Zinc Suspension Production Technology.’ This technology seeks to boost plant growth and crop yields, contributing to increased agricultural productivity.
These strategic collaborations, signed by key innovators including A K Bharimalla, N Vigneshwaran, and others, position ICAR-CIRCOT at the forefront of agricultural technology, offering sustainable solutions for cotton storage and crop health improvement.
